Lady Panthers Sweep Odessa High

As the second half of the District 2-6A matches began, the Lady Panthers visited Odessa High and came away with a five set victory (15-25, 25-18, 21-25, 31-29, 15-6) on Tuesday at the Broncho’s Gymnasium.

In a back-and-forth affair, Permian completed the season sweep over OHS.  Lauren Lucas led Permian in kills with 23, while Nyxalee Munoz followed with nine and Bethanie Fierro had six.  Makenzie Watson contributing an impressive 34 assists, and Denali Cardenas was credited with five more.

Watson finished with 29 digs in the winning effort.  Natalia Abila had 27, with Lucas adding 16 and Munoz another nine. Fierro led in aces with four.  The Lady Panthers are only a game behind Midland High and Midland Lee in the district standings.

In sub-varsity action, all three of the Permian teams won – Junior Varsity (25-18, 25-22), JV Black (25-27, 17-25, 25-22), JV White (25-20, 25-10).
