Mojo Records Three Game Sweep

The Lady Panthers wasted no time establishing their dominance over visiting Presidio on Friday’s non-district tilt at the Permian Fieldhouse.  It took all of three sets (25-13, 25-18, 25-20) for Mojo to claim the victory.

The Mojo girls set the tempo early and secured the 25-13 opening set.  Permian was led by sophomore Jade Workman.  She finished the evening with 15 kills, while Nyxalee Munoz followed with 10.  Denali Cardenas recorded 22 assists, and Workman backed that up with 18.

Seniors Anyssa Cruz and Munoz shared top honors in defensive digs with eight each.  Illiana Garcia backed them up with seven digs of her own.  Facing no serious threat, Mojo rolled to a 25-18 decision in the second set.

In the third round, the Lady Blue Devils put forth their best effort but it still wouldn’t be enough in the 25-20 final set.  Permian improves its season record to 20-8.  After the Labor Day Weekend, the Lady Panthers will play host to the Pecos Lady Eagles at the Permian Fieldhouse on Tuesday, September 7.
