Coach Herrera enters her 9th year as the Lady Panthers Head Volleyball Coach. Under her leadership, Permian played in the state playoffs three of the last five years. For 16 years now, she has taught English and coached volleyball, basketball, and softball at Permian. She is a 2000 graduate of Greenwood HS, where she lettered in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. She attended Howard College on a softball scholarship. Coach Herrera then transferred to Texas Tech, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences with an English minor. In 2018, she earned a Masters Degree in Sports Management from Texas Women’s University. Herrera is the Permian girls athletic coordinator.
Varsity assistant coach Wills has taught math and coached volleyball for 37 years. He graduated from Texas Tech and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Coach Wills is married to wife Lisa and they have two children – Andy and Sara and grandson – Austin.
Coach Tindol will be entering her fifth year coaching and her second year as a Permian coach. Tindol is a graduate of U.T. Permian Basin, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in History. She’s came to us from Bonham where she was the Girls Athletic Coordinator and coached volleyball, basketball, and track. She also taught Texas History for 2 years and AVID for 2 years. She is also a Special Education Inclusion teacher.
Coach Kelsey Byrd is in her second year at Permian as the JV White Coach, and Physical Education teacher. She is a Permian graduate and lettered in Soccer. Coach Byrd attended the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, where she received a Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Kinesiology.
Coach Garcia is entering her first year coaching at Permian and has been with ECISD for six years. She is a graduate of Fort Stockton HS. Coach Garcia has a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from UTPB. She is married and has three children – two grown and one teenager – and also has three grandchildren.
