Permian Falls To Midland Legacy
Odessa, TX – Midland Legacy proved why they remain undefeated in district, handing the Lady Panthers a three-set loss (25-13, 25-15, 25-17) at the Permian Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
Jade Workman was limited to nine kills, six digs and five assists, which is a rarity for the standout sophomore. Anyssa Cruz led the Lady Panthers in digs with 14, followed by Iliana Garcia with nine. Denali Cardenas finished with 12 assists and six digs.
Permian remained tied with Legacy in the first set at 7-7, before the Lady Rebels built a lead and increased the deficit as the set progressed. Legacy jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead in the second set and never let up. The third set went from a 3-3 tie to the Lady Rebels grabbing the momentum and winning the match going away.
All four of the Permian volleyball teams came up short against the Midland Legacy teams. The Lady Panthers (3-5, 26-13) travel to Midland High (5-4, 17-15) on Friday in a crucial district game carrying playoff implications. The Lady Bulldogs lost to San Angelo Central in five sets this evening.
