Coaching Staff

GILLIAN HERRERA Coach Herrera enters her 14th year as the Lady Panthers Head Volleyball Coach. Under her leadership, Permian has made state playoff appearances in five of the last eight years.  For over 20 years now, she has taught English and coached volleyball, basketball, and softball at Permian. She is a 2000 graduate of Greenwood HS, where she lettered in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. She attended Howard College on a softball scholarship. Coach Herrera then transferred to Texas Tech, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences with an English minor.  In 2018, she earned a Masters Degree in Sports Management from Texas Women’s University.  In 2022, Herrera was promoted to Girls Athletic Coordinator.  She is married to John and they have two sons – Jordan (6) and Jameson (3).

ROBERT WILLS Varsity assistant coach Wills has taught math and coached volleyball for 43 years.  He graduated from Texas Tech and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.  Coach Wills is married to wife Lisa and they have two children – Andy and Sara, and two grandsons – Austin and Malakai.

DALYLA MIRANDA Coach Miranda is in her third season of coaching and teaching at Permian.  She is a graduate of Permian – Class of 2018.  In May 2024, she graduated from UT-Permian Basin with a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance with a concentration in coaching.
